Hey there teachers!

Check out these fun activities to spice up your lesson review with your mini Spanish geniuses! Choose from the options provided below to suit your vibe. Short on time? No worries! Just by showing the digital lesson you will still be rockin' that Spanish teacher status!

1. Father's Day Song:10 Minutes

Supplies Needed: A copy of the Father's Day Song lyrics. Download and print them. Laminate them if you can.

Get ready for a blast! Start by watching the cool Father's Day Song segment from this week's video lesson. Be sure to all do the actions that accompany the song, it makes the song easier to learn and more fun too! Next, have your students help you match the Spanish and English song lyrics. (Psst, they're color-coded for an easier match!) I usually display them on a wall in my classroom, creating a month-long musical masterpiece for whenever we listen to the song.

2. Father's Day Card: 20 Minutes

Supplies Needed: A copy of a Father's Day Card for each of your students. Below are two cards to choose from. You will want to print the cards so they are 2-sided. You will fold the cards just like a greeting card.

Next, unveil the magical Father's Day cards. Dive into the details of each card, especially the spot for a special drawing of them and their dad. Let your imagination run wild - they could sketch playing catch, gaming, reading, or chilling at the park with their pops! I usually sketch a park scene with my dad to give them an artistic nudge. Oh, and don't forget to show off your mad coloring skills with the numbers 1-10. Hand out the cards and let the coloring fiesta begin!

Each kiddo should proudly take their Father's Day creation home and surprise their dad on the big day - Father's Day is just around the corner! If a kiddo mentions not having a dad, get creative and suggest making the card for a grandpa or a fun uncle instead. Let the artsy celebrations begin!

This is what the inside of the card looks like:

3. Father's Day Card Compliments: 10 Minutes

Supplies Needed: A copy of a the compliments poster. Download and print it off. Display it in your classroom. You can say these compliments for this activity and everyday of the year!

Teach children how to encourage and celebrate each other in Spanish while admiring their Father’s Day cards!

As children finish their Father’s Day cards, invite everyone to walk around the classroom for a “Compliment Celebration!” Encourage students to show their cards to friends and practice giving compliments in Spanish.

Teach these simple phrases with lots of excitement and expression:

  • ¡Qué bueno! = How good!/Awesome!

  • ¡Qué padre! = How cool!

  • ¡Coloreas bien! = You color well!

  • ¡Buen español! = Good Spanish!

Make It Extra Fun!

Before the activity, practice each compliment using silly voices, big smiles, thumbs up, clapping, or even “firework jazz hands” when students say the phrases. Then let children mingle around the room sharing their cards and complimenting one another. You can even challenge students to use ALL FOUR compliments before the activity ends!

Teacher Tip

These compliment phrases are classroom magic because they can be used ALL year long during art projects, Spanish practice, writing activities, centers, and circle time. Children LOVE encouraging each other in Spanish, and it helps build confidence while creating a positive classroom community.

3. Goodbye Song: 5 Minutes

A fun way to end every Spanish lesson, and even the school day is by singing the YouTube song Adiós by María Fernanda y Sus Amigos! The song repeats four times, which gives children lots of chances to practice and join in with confidence.

Before you begin, show your students the simple motions for each part of the song. Adding actions makes the song more exciting, helps children remember the words, and gets their bodies moving.

  • Preschoolers and older: Stand up and do the motions.

  • Toddlers: Stay seated and act out the movements with their hands and bodies.

By the fourth time, your students will be smiling, singing, and saying “¡Adiós!” like little Spanish stars! ⭐🎶🇪🇸

To give you an idea of how you can teach the Goodbye song in your class, watch the two short videos that show teachers singing and acting out the song with their students.

Song Lyrics:  Adiós Amigos, Adiós

The song repeats four times. The first time, sing it at a normal tempo, the second time, sing it slowly, and the third and fourth times, sing it quickly.

Adiós amigos adiós *wave then clap clap*

(Goodbye, friends, goodbye)

Adiós amigos adiós *wave them clap clap*

(Goodbye, friends, goodbye)

Es hora de partir (Ace OH-dah deh pad-TEER)

*point to watch or clock

(It’s time to go)

Adiós amigos adiós *clap clap* *pat pat* *clap clap*

(Goodbye, friends, goodbye)

Whoo whoo! *twirl fingers in air
