 november Week 3: EASY Review ACTIVITIES

1. dishes & sliverware: (10-15 MINUTES)

This week make sure that you add the dishes and silverware pictures to your bulletin board. Use the bulletin board as a short review lesson everyday to remind your students how to say the words. Also, play the audio file to help you review the words with your students. Now you will be able to use these word in Spanish during breakfast and lunchtime. With repetition and review, your are setting your students up for success to quickly memorize these useful words in Spanish. 

2. Setting the table (15 MINUTES)

Every November I include this activity in my Spanish classes because children love it. Toddlers are naturally going to need more help, but they are capable of helping to set the table. 
The song lyrics below are simple because they repeat over and over to a familiar children's tune. You just substitute in a new dish or silverware word with each verse. 
In the Digital Lesson you can watch Señora Theresa (me) set the table to a mom and dad singing the song, "La Mesa". The lyrics are below. ​Play the song and use the dishes at your childcare center to have your students take turn set the table in Spanish. 

One child can put the plates on the table, another child can put the napkins on the table and so forth. Or you can hand out one plate to each child, one napkin to each child, etc. and they can each set their own place setting. 

Be sure to compliment your students in Spanish! What a wonderful accomplishment to be able to set the table in a second language! For another activity you can clear the table with the audio file included below.
