- Introduction: To start off, gather your students together and explain the significance of Mother's Day. Discuss how it's a day to celebrate and honor the wonderful mothers in our lives and show them how much we love and appreciate them.
- Exploration of the Card: Before diving into coloring, take a moment to explore the card together. Read the message inside and practice the song included by playing the audio file below
- Distribution of Materials: Distribute the pre-made Mother's Day cards to each child, along with crayons, markers, or colored pencils for coloring. Make sure to have a variety of colors and decorative materials to inspire creativity.
- Coloring Time: Now it's time for the fun part! The children will use their artistic skills to color a picture of them with their mom, doing a special activity while making their card as vibrant and beautiful as they can. They should also color the flower petals and the rays of sun on the back of the card. As they color, they can also practice singing the song to themselves or with their friends.
- Guidance and Encouragement: Throughout the activity, provide guidance and encouragement to the children, helping them if they need assistance and praising their creativity and effort.
- Practice Session: Once the cards are colored, gather together again for a practice session. Sing the Mother's Day song together, ensuring that everyone feels comfortable with the melody and lyrics.
- Taking Home the Cards: Before Mother's Day, make sure each child's card is safely tucked into an envelope and ready to take home. Remind them to give their cards to their moms on Mother's Day with a big smile and lots of love.
