1. Jobs and sound effects: 10 MINUTES
Supplies Needed: Download and print one set of the job pictures
After diving into the Jobs and Sound Effects segment of the digital lesson for February Week 3, quickly brush up on these two phrases to prep for the upcoming song:
"El hombre es..." (El ohm-bdeh ace...) "The man is..."
"La mujer es..." (Lah moo-herd ace...) "The woman is..."
Next, show the pictures of the jobs to your eager learners and play the audio entitled, "The Man Is a Mail Carrier." Have a blast chanting the job names and mimicking the sound effects. Challenge your students to join in the fun and attempt the sound effects with you. Watch them giggle as they try to keep up with the audio and the catchy sounds.

2. Charades: 10 MINUTES
Transform learning about jobs into a fun game through a round of charades. Players can take turns selecting a job picture, then with your help they should act out or imitate the sounds associated with the various jobs while the class guesses the Spanish word. Encourage students to respond in English if they are unsure of the Spanish word. Guide them in repeating the job names in Spanish after you. Have fun!
Share Your Wins!
Every time we get your WINS AND SUCCESSES in our inbox, we can’t help but do a little happy dance — to "Don't Stop Believing" or "La Bamba" of course! Why? Because success doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Your wins are our wins, and they’re proof for others that when you do the work, you get results.
Whether your students are finally beginning to repeat or sing in Spanish along with the online videos, or say random words in Spanish throughout the day, or teachers are feeling more confident carrying out the follow-up activities, or parents are sharing that their child is saying words in Spanish at home — we want to hear your wins BIG and small!
Celebrating you always,
Theresa & Team HOLA
