You can practice adding furniture to the rooms in a house with your students. To prepare this activity, download the pictures and flashcards below. Laminate them if you can. Cut the furniture into individual pictures. Next, tell your students to put the furniture in the rooms of the house using the following sentences. Your students should listen and be able to put the correct pieces of furniture in the correct rooms, with your help of course.
Put __________ in ____________.
Pon __________en ___________.
Examples:
Put the sofa in the living room. Put the refrigerator in the kitchen.
Pon el sofá en la sala. Pon la nevera en la cocina.
After you have do this fun activity several times, they should not need your help any longer. In fact, you can put one of your students in charge of telling their classmates where to put the furniture. If you want to make this activity a bit silly, and test for listening comprehension, tell them to put furniture in rooms where it does not belong. For example you can say, "Put the toilet in the living room." (Pon el indoro en la sala.)They may give you a strange face, but if they indeed put the toilet in the living room, you will know that they understood you in Spanish!
