Spanish class in November is packed with fun activities and very practical vocabulary that you can use at home with your child! During the month of November we will learn some of the following based on time. Complimenting others and dancing "La Macarena" while counting to 12. We may also learn how to say the names of dishes and silverware in Spanish which is the perfect warm-up activity for setting and cleaning the table.
Thanksgiving food such as "turkey", "stuffing", "corn" and " pie are also part of the November lesson as well as learning to say if we like or dislike different foods. Parents, below are fun, step-by-step activities for reviewing Spanish at home in November. Have fun!

Compliments
"Fabulous," "That's great," and "Awesome" are three compliments you can learn in Spanish as a family and say to each other at home, or anytime and anywhere! Download and print the poster and hang it on your refrigerator. Play the audio file to learn how to pronounce the expressions. They you will be ready to compliment your children and they can compliment you and others in Spanish!

Learning how to say Dishes & utensils
We use dishes everyday at home and at school so it'll be very useful for your child to learn how to say them in Spanish. Play the audio file and point to the dishes and you repeat them. Next, click on each picture and the name in Spanish will appear. Try to say the name in Spanish with your child, this time without the audio file.
Setting the Table
Now that you and your children have learned the names for dishes and utensils in Spanish, you can set and clear the table in Spanish! Begin by playing the audio file below and follow along with the vocabulary in the table.
Next, play one of the sound tracks below. You have options! You can sing along with a mom or a dad to a slower tempo or a faster tempo. As you sing, help your children take turns putting the plates on the table, then the napkins, forks, knives, spoons and cups. Show off to grandma and grandpa or friends that you can set the table together in Spanish!
Thanksgiving Food
Listen to the audio file and repeat the food vocabulary words with your child. Point to the pictures of the food in the slideshow. Whenever you prepare and these foods at home say their names in Spanish!
