Hello Spanish by the Month users!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and are looking ahead to a fun New Years weekend! I have posted the Spanish In January interactive newsletter on the website. When I teach my toddlers and preschoolers I bring my phone to class and show them the interactive newsletter during our class. (I can get the internet on my phone.) This gets them excited to want to share the interactive newsletter with their parents at home. The more you can involve parents in their learning, the better they will become at Spanish. Besides, parents LOVE when we communicate with them about what their child is learning in our classes. I speak from personal experience, I have two kids and the teachers that communicate with me are ones who I believe are more organized, more professional, more passionate about their job (teaching our children which is pretty important right?) and on top of their game! I did the work for you-you don't have to write the Spanish newsletters each month, just direct parents to them on the website: www.oneilllanguage.com
Also, I added the "Happy Birthday Song" worksheet and audio file as a free download in the bookstore. Please let parents know this too! I love to share freebies with parents!
Lastly, I have added Spanish In January Training Videos as a product under the Spanish In January product page. The videos are similar to me coming to your center or home and training you on how to best carry out the 14 super fun January activities. I model and act out each of the activites and give you lots of suggestion and pointers. As bloggers I would like to give you a discount for the January Training Videos. They are normally $29.99 but if you type in the coupon code: January when purchasing them, you will receive them for 50% off. I hope you try them out and let me know what you think! I would love your feedback so I can continue to make super helpful training videos for you and others!
On another note I would like to ask your opinion about possibly changing the title "Spanish by the Month". The reason is two-fold.
1. I have had requests to create lessons above and beyond the 12 monthly themes. For example some homeschool families have asked that I create "Spanish for Mission Trips". Another idea is to create other lessons such as "Spanish at bedtime" and "Spanish at the Grocery Store" etc. and so many more.
2. The title "Spanish by the Month" does not let people know the most important and unique feature about the product: that you learn Spanish while you teach it, no priror knowledge of Spanish is needed and anyone can become a Spanish teacher using it.
Some ideas I have are to change the title-have a main title and a follow-up sentence. Here are some ideas:
1. "Teach & Learn: Spanish"
2. "The Spanish Teacher In You"
3. "Teaching Spanish Made Simple"
4. "Learning & Teaching Spanish"
5. "I Can Teach Spanish"
The phrase following the title will be: "Your Guide to Learning Spanish While You Teach It!"
Feel free to give me fresh ideas you might have for a title that catches to essence of the program!
I would LOVE and SO APPRECIATE your feedback. If you work with others who are using Spanish by the Month, please ask the for their opinion too! Please post your opinons about a new title as a comment to this blog.
