Hola teachers!
Below are some engaging activities to help you review the digital lesson with Your students. These review exercises are optional, so select the ones that suit you and your little geniuses best. But if you're short on time, don't fret! Simply showing your students some of the digital lesson will still make you the Spanish master!

1: COMPLIMENTS: 10 minutes
Supplies Needed: Download and Print the Compliments Visual
This week's virtual lesson includes the catchy tune "Corazón"! Download and print the song poster and display it in your classroom to get the party started. Turn up the volume and sing your hearts out with your students while pointing to the lyrics on the poster. But, hey, let's take it up a notch! When singing each verse, point to one student at a time and sing that verse as if it's just for them. Watch their faces light up with joy! After the song, let's spread some love and kindness! Ask each student to pick a special expression they want the class to say to them. Then, chant their chosen expression together to them as a class, and watch the love and kindness grow!
2. exercises: 5-10 minutes
Time to get those little legs moving, amigos! In the Spanish lesson video, I showed you how to work out with "walk," "jump," "march," and "stop." But wait, there's a twist...when you hear "ALTO!" it's freeze time! Who can hold their pose like a statute? Challenge accepted!
After working out to the audio tracks a few times, it's time to mix things up. You be in charge of calling out an exercise and have your kiddos take turns being the "ALTO!" boss and watch them beam with pride as they direct the class to stop and hold their moves. These Spanish commands are perfect for a quick workout anytime, so let's get these Spanish mini athletes in training! |
3. DOT-TO-DOT Coloring Sheet: 10 minutes
Let's get creative with a dot-to-dot coloring sheet for your awesome students! Before handing out the sheets, show them how it's done! Write your name on the line and then connect the dots while counting to 20 in Spanish. Then, it's coloring time, make sure you do our best to color inside the lines, of course! With your demonstration, your kiddos will know what to do without a hiccup. Now it's your student's turn! Pass out one sheet and a pencil to each student. As they connect the dots, encourage them to say the numbers in Spanish with a big smile on their faces! Pass out the crayons or markers and let them color away. And let's not forget to celebrate Valentine's Day in style. Show off your Spanish skills by chanting "Feliz Día de San Valentín" with your crew!
Share Your Wins!
Every time we get your WINS AND SUCCESSES in our inbox, we can’t help but do a little happy dance — to "Don't Stop Believing" or "La Bamba" of course! Why? Because success doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Your wins are our wins, and they’re proof for others that when you do the work, you get results.
Whether your students are finally beginning to repeat or sing in Spanish along with the online videos, or say random words in Spanish throughout the day, or teachers are feeling more confident carrying out the follow-up activities, or parents are sharing that their child is saying words in Spanish at home — we want to hear your wins BIG and small!
Celebrating you always,
Theresa & Team HOLA
