DECEMBER WEEK 2: EASY Review ACTIVITIES
1. six gift boxes & toys: (20 minutes)
It's time to get in the holiday spirit! First, print out the pictures of the six gift boxes and toys and tape each box to a toy so it looks like it's wrapped. Then, get ready to play Santa Claus (or Rudolph!) with your students! Pop on a Santa hat or reindeer headband, and let the holiday cheer fill the room!
Here's a fun game you can play to teach the toy words in Spanish! Begin by Introducing your little ones to the six magical gift boxes! Each of these treasure chests holds a secret toy, with a number stamped on the front. Here's the fun part: each student takes turns raising their hand and shouting out the box number they want to open. Once a student picks their perfect box, hand it over and watch them eagerly open it, revealing the toy inside. The whole class can then guess what it is in English! (Hint: it could be a darling, a cuddly stuffed animal, a trike, Legos, a toy or a game.) Then, have the child pop the toy under the "Christmas Tree" picture if you have it displayed in your classroom, and they should give you back the gift box.
But wait, there's more! Next you'll teach your kiddos how to say the names of the six toys in Spanish! Just play the audio file below, hold up each toy as it is taught, and encourage the kids to repeat each toy in Spanish. You can even challenge them with phrases like "Touch the _______" or "Is this _______ or _______?"

2. COLORING SHEETS (10 minutes each)
After soaking up some Spanish toy vocabulary, it's time for your little champs to unleash their artistic side with some coloring fun! Download our playful doll and stuffed animal coloring sheets, sit back, and let the creativity unfold. Plus we've included some Spanish phrases on the coloring sheets to help you can show off your bilingual brilliance while introducing them to your class!
Share Your Wins!
Every time we get your WINS AND SUCCESSES in our inbox, we can’t help but do a little happy dance — to "Don't Stop Believing" or "La Bamba" of course! Why? Because success doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Your wins are our wins, and they’re proof for others that when you do the work, you get results.
Whether your students are finally beginning to repeat or sing in Spanish along with the online videos, or say random words in Spanish throughout the day, or teachers are feeling more confident carrying out the follow-up activities, or parents are sharing that their child is saying words in Spanish at home — we want to hear your wins BIG and small!
Celebrating you always,
Theresa & Team HOLA
