April Week 1: Easy Review Activities

Hey there teachers!

Check out these fun activities to spice up your lesson review with your mini Spanish geniuses! Choose from the options provided below to suit your vibe. Short on time? No worries! Just by showing the digital lesson you will still be rockin' that Spanish teacher status!

1. Count The Days in April: 5 Minutes

Supply Needed:  Download and print off the April calendar

It's time to turn yourself and your students into counting champs!  Grab the calendar, hit play on the audio, and dive into counting from 1 to 30 together in Spanish! Let a student be the teacher and point to the numbers as you chant them! After carrying out this activity, you can begin to count in English and Spanish everyday during calendar time!

2. Wash your Hands: 10 Minutes

Supply Needed:  Download and print off the "Wash Your Hands" poster

We wash our hands multiple times a day, don't we? Here's a fun idea – you and your students can sing about handwashing in Spanish. Be sure and act out each verse with your hands. Pretend to wash your hands, turn off the water and dry your hands as you saw in video lesson. You and your students will be much more engaged in this activity if you use your act it out while singing!

Be sure to download and print the "Wash Your Hands" poster. Display copies next to all the sinks in your classroom. Then, play the song and practice singing along with and acting out the tune! My students love when I let them choose if they want to listen to the mom sing the song first, or the dad and the slower tempo or faster tempo song. Empower your students by taking a vote and letting them decide who you will listen to first.

3. Coloring Sheet: 10 Minutes

Supply Needed:  Download and print off the "Wash Your Hands" poster

Kids get a kick out of teacher made coloring sheets. Yes, I drew the picture below :-) I like to create professional coloring sheets and mix in my own drawings from time to time too. Print enough copies of the coloring sheet for your class. As your students color, have the "Lávate las manos" song playing in the background. Remember, when it comes to learning a new language, repetition is crucial. By replaying the songs several times a day, both you and your students will commit the lyrics to memory and make progress in mastering the Spanish language.
