Review Spanish in August-Week 1
Activity 1:
Children love playing Hide-and-Go-Seek! After watching the video and singing the song "Pulgarcito" you can use the lyrics to play Hide-and-Go-Seek. The directions are below. I also modeled how to play during the second and the third to the last activities in the video lesson for this week. (See the video above)
I did this activity with classes of toddlers and preschoolers this week and the children LOVED it! They love it every August when I teach it! Kids don't realize they are having an entire following conversation in Spanish while playing Hide-and-Go-Seek.

Activity 2:
Let's get creative! Download and print the pages of the hand and the finger flashcards below. Model for your kids to draw a face on each finger. Encourage them to draw a variety of faces. Next, show them how to cut and paste the flashcards of the finger names above each finger. Don't forget to put your name "nombre" on your paper. Practice saying the names of the fingers and singing the song. Post the finished hands on a bulletin board for all to see.

The Footprint Game
You played the footprint game with me in the last virtual lesson. You can play the same game at home or in your classroom! First, download the footprints and cut them into individual footprints. You will want at least one footprint per student.
Directions to Play:
Place the animal footprints on the floor throughout the room. Make sure there is at least one set of footprints for each student. Play the song, "Los animales". Invite the children to strut around the room and act like the animals they hear in the song. Tell them that when you pause the song, they must quickly find a pair of animal footprints on which to stand. Ask each child which animal footprints they are standing on. Tell them to try to say the animal name in Spanish but if they need help, you will help them. After each child names their animal, follow-up with the entire class by chanting the animal name several times.
When the music resumes, the children are to strut around the room again until you pause the music. Play this game for 5-10 minutes or as long as you see the children are enjoying it.
You can also play this game as you would musical chairs, removing a set of footprints each time the music stops. The child left without a pair of footprints must sit down. The last child standing wins. What a fun way to practice animal names in Spanish! Children love to play this game! Have fun!
