EASY Review ACTIVITIES:
Even if you don't know any Spanish, you can confidently teach the following simple Spanish review activities with ease! The review activities are straightforward and engaging, ensuring that both you and your students enjoy the learning process. With our comprehensive resources, you'll feel empowered to bring Spanish to your classroom effortlessly and successfully!
1. pool vocabulary: 10 minutes
Materials Needed: Pool visuals and cheat sheet to help you pronounce the words. If you have a beach bag and the actual pool items that would make the activity even more engaging!
Get ready to dive into a Spanish splish-splash adventure with your awesome students! First up, ask them in English who's up for a swim. Then, paint a sunny picture of hitting the pool together and needing their help to pack. As they shout out swim essentials in English, reveal the pictures of the items or the real-life items if you have them and have them help you put them in a beach bag. Now, the best part - time to learn the Spanish lingo for all those cool pool goodies. Just sit back, enjoy the slideshow, and join in the fun as the pool vocab audio file takes the lead! Let the swimming fiesta begin! 🏊♂️🌴
2. game: limbo at the pool! 10-15 minutes
Materials Needed: Pool visuals. A pool noodle or a jump rope.
This fun activity is directly from my Teach & Learn Spanish in August Book! Check it out and have fun playing it with your students. You can easily turn this into a literacy activity for older students by taping the word flashcards to the wall instead of the pictures.
3. number review: 5 MINUTES
Materials Needed: Download number cards or point to the numbers on your classroom calendar.
Children love showing off that they can count in a foreign language. Use the visuals and audio files below to do quick number review mini-lessons whenever you have an extra 5 minutes in your day! The kids will get a kick out of counting in high squeaky voices and robot voices, especially if you get into it too!
SHARE YOUR DSA STORY!
Every time we get your WINS AND SUCCESSES in our inbox, we can’t help but do a little happy dance — to "Don't Stop Believing" or "La Bamba" of course!
Why? Because success doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Your wins are our wins, and they’re proof for others that when you do the work, you get results.
Whether your students are finally beginning to repeat or sing in Spanish along with the digital lessons, or say words in Spanish during the day, or teachers are feeling more confident carrying out the Easy Review Activities, or parents are sharing that their child is speaking Spanish at home — we want to hear your wins BIG and small!
Celebrating you always,
Theresa & Team HOLA
