You can play a color game with your children. Call out one of the colors in Spanish and they have to run around the room and find and touch something of that color as fast as they can. If you have more than one child, you can make it a race. Then put a fun twist on the game and let one of your children be the caller and you, mom or dad have to find the colors. Your child will think they are pretty special being your Spanish teacher!
Insects
Now that we are in April, kids will start noticing all of the amazing insects that are in nature. This is the perfect time of year to practice insect in Spanish! Play the audio file below. Repeat the insect names as you point to them on your computer. When you take a walk outside and see any of these insects, say their name in English and Spanish!
(If you click on the insect pictures they become larger.)
Clean Up!
Make cleaning up more fun by learning the song "Recojer" with your children. When it's time to clean up their room, their toys or the kitchen table, sing this song out loud in Spanish together while you're cleaning up! Compliment them for cleaning up in Spanish!
