Our Services At a Glance

O’Neill Language Academy (OLA), conveniently located in the Twin Cities, specializes in teaching nine languages including:
Spanish, French, English, German, Italian, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Japanese and Portuguese.
OLA has been teaching languages to adults and children for over 13 years. We also provide translating and interpreting services. At OLA we pride ourselves on maintaining a personal touch with our students. The goal of our dedicated instructors is to make each of our students truly enjoy learning their new language and culture.

Background

O’Neill Language Academy was founded in 1991. OLA began teaching Spanish to adult students. Soon after, OLA began offering courses in eight other languages and introduced translating and interpreting services. Because of high demand, in 1997 OLA’s Director developed and created foreign language programs designed especially for children. Our children’s programs have been successfully implemented and adapted for a variety of groups including: child care centers, home school groups, public and private elementary schools, community education and individual families in their own homes.

Instructors

At OLA, we select our instructors for their excellent language skills, (either native or near native) their educational background, enthusiastic personality and genuine desire to help others learn a new language. In addition, each instructor is trained in OLA’s immersion education techniques and is periodically observed in action.

Setting the Standard

OLA’s innovative approach to language education maximizes each student’s potential in a relaxed and fun environment. At OLA we use highly effective immersion teaching techniques that immerse each student in their second or perhaps third language. Colorful visuals, flashcards, role-playing, games, puppets, art and music make our students feel as though they have just stepped into the ‘native’ country. Emphasis during class is placed on ‘speaking’ the new language.

How is O’Neill Language Academy Different?

OLA specializes in teaching languages at your location. This way, adults and children may study a language before, during or after their work or school day without the hassles of commuting. In addition, we can tailor our curriculum to meet the unique needs of each of our clients. On-site instruction is available for group and private students. Our small class sizes allow each student to participate in the many role-playing and speaking activities that make up each class.
